2023 sees the launch of an initiative which is is very close to all our hearts. The Incontri Emerging Artist Fellowship will provide support, guidance, and a platform to exceptional young musicians who are at the early stage of a major international career.

Incontri is the ideal setting for those who believe in the kind of meaningful creativity and collaboration which is intrinsic to the performance of the rich chamber music repertoire. With its intimate retreat-like setting, the festival offers incomparable opportunities which will be transformative for our visiting Fellows. We aspire to welcome, introduce, and include the younger generation of performers into this unique environment and  to help broaden their outlook while offering nurturing mentorship inspired by the distinctive philosophies we treasure.

Fellows will collaborate, perform and exchange ideas  with the invited artists,  deepening their skills to master the chamber music genre, as well as engaging  with visiting authors and our supportive public. The beauty of this dialogue lies in the reciprocity of a more experienced generation passing on the secrets of their art and opening the doors to new possibilities while they, in turn, enjoy the stimulus and reward of engaging with truly outstanding young musicians.

This year we have the chance to welcome the pianist Jae Hong Park, first prize winner of the 2021 Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition. In spite of his young age, Jae Hong is already a seasoned solo performer, and we are delighted that he decided to set aside other enticing offers in order to be with us. We can’t wait for him to join the Incontri family and to introduce him to you.

The inaugural Incontri Emerging Artist Fellowship is generously sponsored by Barbara Herman.
